Tooth gems
How long do tooth gems last?
Swarovski crystals last from one month to two years. 18k gold charms last from six months to over two years. Placement, design and lifestyle all play a part.
Does it hurt, or damage my teeth?
No drilling and no pain. Gems are bonded to the enamel surface and lifted cleanly when it is time. Never try to remove one at home with tweezers, clippers or floss.
What are the gems made of?
Authentic, lead-free Swarovski crystal from Austria, and 18 karat gold charms handcrafted in France and Australia.
Can I be allergic?
An allergy to the crystals is rare. An allergy to acrylates, found in some dental fillings, can rule gems out, so tell us before your appointment.
Can I get gems while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Yes. Pregnancy and breastfeeding do not affect your eligibility.
What if I want it removed later?
Removal is a quick, enamel-safe appointment — see the removal page for what it involves. Many clients swap a gem for a fresh design rather than going bare.
Whitening
Will whitening make my teeth sensitive?
The treatment is tailored to your teeth precisely so it stays comfortable — a clean, even lift rather than the sting of an over-strength kit. If you have sensitivity history, we talk it through before anything is applied.
How long does the result last?
It depends on your teeth and your habits — coffee, tea and smoking all play a part. We set honest expectations in the chair, and touch-ups are straightforward when you want them.
Can I whiten and get a gem in the same visit?
Often, yes. A fresh, even base makes a crystal sit that much brighter — whitening and placement pair naturally, and we will talk through what suits your enamel first.
Is whitening safe on enamel?
Yes — the treatment is enamel-safe and applied at professional-grade strength, assessed and tailored to your teeth rather than chosen off a shelf.
Training with Nhi
Do I need prior dental experience to start?
No. The Beginners program starts from zero and takes you through to certification. Tiers 1 to 3 are for techs who already place gems and want the science behind retention.
Can I actually learn tooth gems online?
Yes. The program runs over six weeks online: 80+ video lessons, a 200+ page handbook and 12 hours of extra CPD classes, with group and 1:1 mentorship alongside.
Do you teach students in Australia only?
No. Students have trained with Nhi from Australia, the United States, Portugal and Finland, and they share one private global community.
Do I receive a certificate when I finish?
Yes. Every program ends in certification on completion.
Is there an examination?
Tier 1 includes a 1:1 online practical with Nhi and an examination. Ask on a discovery call how your program is assessed.
How long does the course take?
Six weeks of structured lessons, and your access to the material does not expire when they end.
What if I need help once I start?
Support carries on after the lessons: group and 1:1 mentorship, direct access to Nhi, and the private community of students.
